Why Use the Portal?
| It facilitates a fast, efficient and cost-effective way of obtaining
extensive information on standards, conformity assessment requirements,
and other trade-related technical regulations/laws |
| It assists exporters and other stakeholders to know, understand and
meet standards and technical requirements of the products of their
target market(s); |
| It allows stakeholders to review and comment on the TBT notifications by the WTO and draft PNS developed by the BPS.

Who's behind the Portal?
The S&C Portal is administered by the Department of Trade and Industry’s Bureau of Product
Standards (DTI-BPS), which is the National Standards Body of the Philippines and the WTO TBT Enquiry Point of the country.

| It was set up with technical assistance of the Republic of the
Philippines - European Union (RP-EU) Trade Related Technical Assistance
(TRTA) Programme and the USAID’s Economic Modernization through
Efficient Reforms and Governance Enhancement (EMERGE) Project, with
support from the Philippine Exporters Confederation Inc. (PHILEXPORT)
and the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI).

Welcome to the services section of our website wherein you will find a wide variety of services we extend to our clients. This section outlines the BPS delivery of standardization and conformity assessment programs, services and related activities.
Based on Republic Act (RA) 4109 Philippine Standardization Law, the BPS is the National Standards Body (NSB) of the Philippines. As the National Standards Body, BPS supports industry and protects consumers' welfare through:
- development and promulgation of standards,
- product testing and certification;
- accreditation of competence and capability of

- testing and calibration laboratories;
- accreditation of management system certification bodies; and
- private emission testing centers;
- national registration scheme for quality assessors;
- international cooperation on standards and conformance; and
- training programs on ISO 9000/PNS 1000, ISO 14000/PNS 17000, ISO/IEC 17025, product certification and other standardization activities.
