The Department of Trade and Industry’s Bureau of Product Standards (DTI-BPS) informs the concerned sectors that BAFPS 111:2012 – Philippine Tablea has been approved as PNS / BAFPS 111:2012.

Developed by the Bureau of Agriculture and Fisheries Products Standards of the Department of Agriculture, the standard applies to Philippine Tablea, made from pure (100%) cocoa bean that has been fermented., roasted, ground and molded with no added ingredients and additives. The product is used for direct human consumption or as an ingredient in the manufacture of chocolate and chocolate products.

The standard will promote a common understanding among concerned sectors and provide a level playing field for businesses as well as ensure the safety of the general public.
