The Department of Trade and Industry’s Bureau of Philippine Standards (DTI-BPS) adopted the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) / International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 2382-36:2018 Information technology – Vocabulary – Part 36: Learning, education and training as a Philippine National Standard (PNS).
The purpose of ISO/IEC 2382 is to provide easily understood definitions regarding information technology. Each concept defined has been chosen to provide a definition that is suitable for general application.
Published by ISO/IEC in 2013, PNS ISO/IEC 2382-36:2018 is intended to promote international communication in information technology for learning, education and training. It shows the terms and definitions of selected concepts relevant to the field of information technology for learning, education and training.
PNS ISO/IEC 2382-36:2018 was approved for adoption upon the recommendation of the Subcommittee on IT for learning, education and training (SC 2) and the Technical Committee on Information technology (BPS/TC 60). BPS/TC 60 and SC 2 are composed of representatives from the National Privacy Commission, GlobalKnowledge PH, Technological University of the Philippines, Emilio Aguinaldo College – Manila, Philippine Association of Government Electronics Engineers Inc., Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines, Philippine National IT Standards Foundation, Philippine e-Learning Society, Philippine Society of IT Educators, TUV Rheinland Philippines, Inc., University of the East – Manila, IT Hured Philippines, Department of Information and Communications Technology, Philippine Economic Zone Authority, Information Technology Management System – Philippine National Police, College of Saint John Paul II Arts and Sciences, Mapua University, Lyceum of the Philippines University, Palawan State University, CEvans Management Consulting, Social Security System, Philippine Association of Government Electronics Engineers Inc., and Institute of Computer Engineers of the Philippines.
This standard will promote common understanding among stakeholders in the information technology industry.
The DTI-BPS is the National Standards Body of the Philippines. It is the country’s member to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
