ISO warns against email fraud


The Department of Trade and Industry- Bureau of Philippine Standards (DTI-BPS) prompts all Standards Bodies, Standards Development Organizations (SDO), Standards Regulators, members of DTI-BPS Technical Committees and other relevant stakeholders who work with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) to be cautious on email invitations claiming to be from the said organization.

It has come to the attention of the ISO Committee on Consumer Policy (ISO/COPOLCO) that an email communication entitled “Invitation to 40th COPOLCO World Congress on Digital Economy” has been circulating among several inboxes of the ISO community. The invitation comes with a flyer offering “discount” should the receiver avails of the ticket. Please note that this invitation is fake and fraudulent and is suspected to be a phishing activity.

If you have received any email regarding the said event from any of the following persons or email addresses, please immediately terminate your communication with them:
