The BPS has adopted the Action Team (AT) concept in its organizational structure. This concept gives the BPS the needed flexibility in order to cope with the requirement of having more teams to specifically conduct a certain required activity.
BPS is a relatively small organization compared to its counterpart national standards bodies in terms of manpower and financial resources. BPS has a total manpower complement of about 97, administrative and technical staff to carry out its mandate and is supported by representatives from all sectors of the society who volunteer their time to serve on the different technical committees and working groups in the standards development process.
Being a governmental body, BPS draws its funding from the national government. The budget required for its operation is allocated annually by the President of the Philippines.
