PNS on Rotating Electrical Machines

The Department of Trade and Industry’s Bureau of Product Standards (DTI-BPS) informs the concerned sectors that the following standards have been adopted

The DTI-BPS adopts the standards upon the recommendation of the Technical Committee on Rotating Machinery (BPS/TC 58). The members of BPS/TC 58 are composed of representatives from the government, industry and professional associations, manufacturers, academe, and testing laboratories.

 PNS IEC 60034-14:2012 – Rotating electrical machines – Part 14: Mechanical vibration of certain machines with shaft heights 56 mm and higher – Measurement, evaluation and limits of vibration severity (IEC published 2007) ICS 29.160

1. PNS IEC 60252-1:2012 – AC motor capacitors - Part 1: General performance, testing and rating – Safety requirements – Guide for installation and operation (IEC published 2010) ICS 31.060.30; 31060.70
2. PNS IEC 60252-2:2012 – AC motor capacitors - Part 2: Motor start capacitors (IEC published 2010) ICS 31.060.30; 31060.70
3. PNS IEC 61400-1: Amd. 1:2012 – Wind turbine generator systems - Part 1: Design requirements (IEC published 2010) ICS 27.180
4. PNS IEC 60034-22:2012 – Rotating electrical machines - Part 22: AC generators for reciprocating internal combustion (RIC) engine driven generating sets (IEC published 2009) ICS 29.160

 The standards will promote a common understanding among concerned sectors and provide a level playing field for businesses as well as ensure the safety of the general public.
